The movie shows how the GRMHD flow structure in the funnel region varies with the black hole spin by using a semi-analytical approach. Within the funnel region of rotating black holes, large-scale, ordered magnetic filed lines are attached onto black hole event horizon, and the plasma is almost streaming along the field lines.

The image is produced by the public education software “ Odyssey_Edu” ( Pu and Yun et al. This plot demonstrates photon trajectories around a spinning black hole, assuming scattering effect is negligible. The story about GRRT is related to the radiative transfer (and relativistic corrections) properties from materials along the photon trajectories received by the observer.

Related works and some black hole shadow images can be found here. I am also involved in the Greenland Telescope (GLT) project. I am a member of the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) project, mainly working with EHT Theoretical Models and Simulation working group. First image of black hole (EHT collaboration). My publications list is available via ADS, ORCID, or Google Scholar. A brief introduction of my research area can be found on the Research page. Theoretical and mathematical tools for exploring these topics are theory of general relativity (GR), general relativistic magnetohydrodynamics (GRMHD), and general relativistic radiative transfer (GRRT). We present the first Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) images of M87, using observations from April 2017 at 1.3 mm wavelength. Welcome to my homepage! I am an astrophysicist from Taiwan.įascinated by the beauty of spacetime and black holes, my current research focus on black hole astrophysics, including the accretion and jet formation around black holes, their observable emission features, and the black hole shadow image. 2020-Present Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)Ģ020-present Visiting Scholar, Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy & Astrophysics (ASIAA)Ģ017-2020 Postdoc, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (PI)Ģ013-2017 Postdoc, Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy & Astrophysics (ASIAA)Ģ013 Ph.D., Department of Physics, National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU)
